The Code of the Extraordinary Mind

"The Code of the Extraordinary Mind" holds a
special place in my heart, as it was the first book I encountered on my personal development journey. I vividly remember the time when I was living in my parents' house, going through a separation, and paradoxically feeling a sense of liberation and hope that I hadn't felt in a long time. This book marked the beginning of a transformational journey for me, leading me to explore platforms like Mindvalley and Lifebook as I sought to become the best version of myself. 

The book's central message resonated deeply with me: It encourages you not to accept everything you've been taught and shown throughout your life as an unquestionable truth. Vishen Lakhiani's concept of
"Brules" (bullshit rules) exposes how societal, cultural, religious, and familial norms can unknowingly restrict our potential. While it can be daunting to challenge these ingrained beliefs and question why you do what you do, it's also profoundly liberating.

During the time I read this book, I was grappling with
feelings of failure due to having two children from two different marriages and what society might label as relationship failures. I carried the weight of being judged, even by myself, for potentially affecting my children's lives negatively. However, "The Code of the Extraordinary Mind" helped me shift my perspective. It made me realize that the happier and stronger I became, the better parent I could be to my kids. It empowered me to embrace my true self and reject the limiting narratives that had held me back.
